Hi David and
Shell
We got away from the Highway at the following (scroll down for description of
rest area) which is west of
Coolgardie at a large area of
granite outcrops accessed by a loop of old road.
Scenic Lookout Rest Area
Most people stayed in close proximity to each other near where the
toilet used to be, but we were able to find a spot out of sight and sound of other campers.

PS: I just realised you want to take a week. If you want to get
well away and see interesting rocks if you haven't been to them, consider
Victoria Rock or
Cave Hill Rock, both of which are south of
Coolgardie. They are mentioned in my 2007 blog on the Goldfields, and i am in the process of putting the full version of the trip on my website - all being
well it should be there in a few days or so. We visited the Woodlines area without the caravan, but would have had no access problems with it on the roads we took.

Hi
Boondi, Karalee, Baladjie, Elachbutting, Beringbooding, Eaglestone(visit
Mangowine Homestead) Kokerbin,
Perth.
OR
Sth
Coolgardie to Gnarlbine,
Victoria Rock down Holland Way
Lake Johnston, Breakaways to
Perth through
Hyden.
I should imagine it will all be a bit dry with fire bans.
Probably best to stick with the nthn section.
Have a good trip.

Hi Wombat100
Glad to help a bit.
Not familiar with Kal-
Esperance so I will leave that to someone who is.
Esperance to
Albany.
Quagi, Munglinup,
Starvation Boat Harbour, Mason Bay.
The eastern end of Fitzgerald National Park (
Hopetoun). Don't know this bit but someone will.
Point Ann,
Cape Riche(go down Sandalwood Rd not
Cape Riche Rd).
Other spots between here and
Albany but someone with local knowledge may have better info.
Hope it's of some help.

Dave &
Shell,
If your van had been a little smaller ............ the
Holland Track would have been our choice .............. and while we have seen big vans out there ..... getting damaged along the track ............. it is not something that we would suggest.
The fact that it is the start of school holidays ...... and
Easter ....... a five day long weekend, will give you lots of people out and about everywhere.
The locations suggested
Victoria Rock
Weowannie
Rock
Baldjie
RockCave HillElachbutting Rock
are all great camping locations ..........
and Jaurdi Station is a large area, worth exploring and big enough to keep away from other people, though mining exploration through the area is having a detrimental effect on the station tracks .............. very sad.
Above all ............. enjoy your trip ..........
Cheers,
Wayne & Sally.

You could try finding all of Hunt's wells. I have found all but two. One is on a mining lease the other is very hard to find. No rough tracks and plenty of camping spots.

Hullo
Shell,
with a week up your sleeve, here is my 2 bob's worth:
Proceed north from
Coolgardie. On this road
check out
Rowles LagoonRowles Lagoon
A little further north is
Ularring RockUlarring Rock
These
places can be morning tea or lunch depending on the time of day.
Then take an anticlockwise run down the Mt Jackson Road to
Trough WellTrough Well
You will need to use the lat and long in this link to find
the entrance. It's a great overnight spot.
Next it's west to Eluchbutting
Rock. A beautifull spot.
Elachbutting Rock
Next it's a very short drive to
Beringbooding Rock at the corner of Beringbooding Rd and
Cunderdin Rd. Info here:
Wheat Belt Tourism
It's about 30deg34min South 118deg40min East.
From there, there's a huge choice through towns like
Mukinbudin,
Bencubbin, Koorda,
Wyalkatchem,
Dowerin,
Goomalling and
Toodyay.
Have a great run and I'm looking forward to your blog updates when you get to the US.
cheers
