No worries Dave
I recently planned a family group trip up to
Cape York and noticed the proliferation of sites claiming to have the latest access status. Most of them wrong. I ended up talking to the engineer at
Cook Council and he gave me the info.
So when I find one that appears to be an official one I save it. Apologies to the this site's road status page organiser but yours can be out of date as
well. It was according to the data we got from
Cook Council immediately before we went to the Cape. And as we do not carry any computer in the car (thank god) it was imperative that we had the latest info when we left
home.
This is the only one that I know I rely on as we have only been in the parks included in the list since the Cape trip. Still looking for the others. Its a trait of a lot of Government offices and of course private site managers. They all think that their site is the "official" one and of course the easiest and best to use. Just human nature.
Glad to see it is of use.
We always
check before we go anywhere for the latest closures. I know that people will argue that "no sign = not closed". That may be true but imagine being on the Bridal track with a trailer and you come around the bend to where that huge
rock is, totally blocking the road. And you cannot back up it too narrow. Interesting recovery that one. May need a big bank balance.
Phil
PS. Sorry about the waffling on here. Too much time on my hand. I need a trip!!!!!
