After a blow-out on the Newcastle/
Sydney expressway at 100k, I reshod with three new 'Blue Streak 195R LT80's.
The tyres where 8yo but had "as new" tread left so I suppose it was a combination of a puncture/age/50PSI/heavy load that done the job.
After that incident I got rid of all three 8yo tyres for safety's sake.
Has anyone had any luck with these Thailand produced tyres?
I was told Goodyear makes them.
PS Just returned
home along the Goulburn/Taralga/
Oberon road which was in a northbound direction and be warned of big rigs southbound.
Also the Castlereagh Hwy north to the
Rylstone turnoff is as rough as bags so plan on a slow trip.
Cheers

hi. i think that those tyres are seriously, out of "use by date". i think you might have done yourself a big favour getting rid of the other three. ????? from what our local bridgestone dealer tells me , the life of a tyre ia approx 5 years. regards. ken b

Spot on Ken,
I had a blow-out taking the boat up north, again travelling at 100k and that was my introduction to old trailer tyres. They were purchased "New" with the 6 metre Quin%#@* - same deal.
To be fair, my 2003 Caravan was bought 2nd hand and the 'As new" tyres were originals.
All ExploreOz members please take note of the 5 years 'use-by date limitation.
Tread depth and condition are NOT the only big safety factor with tyres.
Cheers

Blue Streak tyres are made using a goodyear carcass. It is a claytons goodyear.
I have used them for years on my son's commodore and his bike trailer, no issues.

You will find the date made on the tyre. the number in the circle is the week then the year from memory.
