so who is going to the rosehill caravan and camping show this weekend? for me, i think i will be there sunday if all goes to plan. i have no shopping list but like many others i have a wish list that will probably still remain to be a dream long after i return home.

and after going to all the recent shows, they can all seem to be a bit the same - same stalls, same exhibitors, same positions and even the same products.

we all want something new. so what do you think will be different this year? is there something special to be released that someone has heard about?

surely there has got to be one bargain that cant be resisted. any thoughts?

Yeah Pradoz, Ill be there tomorrow, last one I went to was when the 200 series come out so must have been about 07 ?? Was starting to get a bit boring as you mentioned same everything. I have been to the Penrith one evertime but thought Id give this one another go. Not really looking for any thing in particular but some thing might catch my eye. I bought a duel batt set up for the 95 series T /D grande but never bothered changing the old system over so kept it still sitting in garage so will put on the 120. Wife has told me to leave credit card at home lol, told her the day she does that when she goes shopping then I will. Ive got bub (3 year old on sunday) so tomorrow I'll be child free. They have taken away the 4wd advertising from it and more emphasis on caravans etc but still ARB and the likes are all there. Typing this now I remember thinking what a load of bullsh## when I was getting a quote for suspension on the 4b at the supposidly show special, I had a quote then rang up one of their stores (was a week day) and it was cheaper then the show special, went back and told them, he wasnt impressed but I did get the waeco at a good price at the time.................

I only go every four years. Then you can see a few changes in products but what I object to is having to pay to get in (Claremont Show Grounds) just to buy something you rearly don't want.

After rain all night, I'm now debating with myself whether it's worth going today or not. Problem is, most of the 4wd and camping stuff is outside :(
Like the thought of less people though, so don't know.

i would be going if my sons soccer was cancelled. its been transferred to a later time and different venue so that counts me out for today. hoping to go tomorrow tho rain, hail or shine!

The best time we ever had there was when it rained as there was literally no one there so no crowds at all. not sure how it will be today tho seeing its the first day, people may still go

if you do go let us know whats interesting this year, cheers mick....

I just went there and after spending 45 min stuck trying to find a parking spot finally got out &went back home.. There is mud everywhere & the parking guys are all confused.. There were a couple of cars bogged & road rage everywhere... I think it's best to wait till a week day if you can or better still get someone to drop you off...

last time we went there by train and found that so easy. its right at the station, so end of the day easy to get home when your tired and no stress parking in the morning

the parking hassles turn me off too. its why i like penrith show as i get parking easier there and its free

i wouldnt think it would be busy with so much rain around. must be because its the first day

Isn't it a 4WD & camping show??? Mud in the carparks shouldn't be a problem.

Well with all the stories it hardly seems worthwhile calling in. I am going through Sydney next weekend with a trailer behind me. What is the best strategy to get there with the trailer behind me for parking and attending?

Thanks, Martin

which area of sydney are you driving thru? are you only in/out 1 day?

i would park at one of the "better" train stations and train it there. its so stress free that way.

other than that get there early. i have seen enough 4wds with trailers on them before so you wont be on your own. they may have an area set aside for trailers if you get there early enough. maybe someone going between now and then can let you know if they see that. if i get there as i want to i will check it out if i can, but i may not ??? be able to get there tomorrow as i wanted :( if you have a disabled sticker attached to your windscreen they have different parking closer for that too

Mate there should be plenty of parking spots for a trailer.
Wife, youngest son and I went in through gate 1 had to line up for a little while at 10:15 this morning and came out around 4:00 pm.
On the way in we over heard staff talking about two of the shuttle buses getting bogged ferrying folk up to the entry points and by the time we left it was already sloppy and this was day 1.
For others don't take the little car if you want to park inside the track.
We have just Upgraded to a caravan so this visit was spent looking at van stuff which I have never stopped at before, But I do always dream/drool in the Motor Home/Winnebago section.

Cheers Michael

Yes quite a few Problem was SHE was with me lol
She can't see a bargain like I can.
No but seriously we have enough camping bits to see us through but what did catch my eye was those 12v caravan movers now I have towed enough trailers over the years to be fairly confident in most situations but gee they would make certain manouvers a breeze instead of an obstacle, I have man handled my Trak Shak into some tight spots for a better set up but a 17 foot dual axle van would be impossible.
Just one too many numbers in front of the decimal point for me at the moment.

Cheers Michael

yes know what you mean. looked at them myself and they just dont have enough diamonds or carats associated with them for HER to see the value of these in certain situations - espescially when you can "just move it yourself" - hmmm

I went today. Arrived at about 1:30 and left at closing time. Contrary to other reports, I found the parking pretty easy. There were multiple spots available when I arrived. There were no queues to get out of the carpark when I left at closing time. I parked near the entrance where there's the bit you have to walk across the train tracks.
