Just had a report on the condition of Anne Beadell H/way between
Neale Junction and
Point Sunday Rd.
Since the summer rains this section has some lage washouts and loose sand. look at adding 2 - 3 hours extra time for travelling this section. The rain guage had 250+mm at
Yeo Lake.
However the desert hasn't looked this good in years. Done a couple of trips recently and the amount of birdlife and flowering that is starting to happen is brillant.
Will be a great year for desert travel.

We have just returned from a trek along the Anne Beadell Hwy. The plant life is in amazing condition, and I agree that we are lucky to have seen it in it's current condition. As for the track, it's mostly in pretty good condition. Having said that, there are some pretty big holes in the eastern section. The
Serpentine Lakes near the WA border are full of water at the moment. Very few camels sited, but there are plenty of their "footprints".
PS: We also travelled the Connie Sue, Heather, some of the Gunbarrel and the Gary Highway up to
Kunawarritji (near
well 33). 3 vehicles and 6 guys. What a trip.
Note: there is water over the Gary at
Lake Cohen and further north.
