Ladies & Gents,
Having thoroughly coated my engine and undercarriage with Lanolin, it has now formed a dusty coating which makes some maintenance a bit awkward. The engine does run just fine, though.
So, tips for removing?
I've has success with aerosol degreaser, but it seems to not shift everything via just rinse-off. Would CT-14 or similar sprayed throughly do the trick and what are the bits to take care over?
Tips for reapplication?
Which are the main bits to focus on? Spray everywhere again? How to reduce its "stickiness"? Alternatives?
Cheers in advance for your thoughts,
T

Sorry T,
I'm missing something. Why do you want to coat your motor?
Cheers Wilko

Hi Wilko,
More the engine bay than the engine itself.

Tim.
Now that you have coated the components it is best to leave them as they are because any thing that is harsh enough to remove the lanolin will remove the protective coating the manufacturer put on the components. It may look a bit untidy but the end result will be good for the vehicle. I use lanolin on all surfaces that are not painted and it is very effective at stopping surface rust. Eric

Thanks Eric. That was my motive, but wondered if there might be a better way to redo it without the dusty-crust collateral.

Hi timglobal,
It is very good gear but a real pain to remove. We use to use it on the Drill Rigs and compressors when going to Groote Eylandt on the barge. By the time it got there we had to use degreaser and a lot of elbow grease to get it off.
Cheers
Simon.

I was in my local camping
shop just yesterday with Mr 4x4, Pat Callinan's video playing. He was promoting Lanotec products and offered that their Citra Force was the go to remove the General Purpose Lanolin.
I did rather prefer it when they played Russell Quoit's All Aussie Adventures though. LOL

Russell would use petrol, whilst smoking a cig.

Exactly, and very effective too.
And at least he wouldn't promote which brand of petrol to use!
