hey all,
just a quick one.....i'm planning a small fishing trip for the old man and myself on Saturday arvo and into the night down in Geelong.
i'm hoping to just set up in the Saint Helen's
boat ramp car park and throw the big rigs in as far as i can.
firstly, is it ok to launch the rods in from the
boat ramp car park? or maybe a bit crowded and busy for the fish to be attracted?
secondly, how's the fishing been at
st helens? i did hear of a 10 year old kid catching an 8kg snapper a while ago not too far out in a boat.
otherwise i was looking at
parking on that
rock pier off Mackey st.
your replies will be greatly appreciated.
cheers
Steve

Another place very nearby that may be worthwhile are the rocks around North Shore. I know they catch snapper off there.

hi Steve
fishing from the rocks at saint helen's
boat ramp is fine, very popular spot for land based snapper fishing, i have heard that there are still a few about at the moment so you may get lucky.
regards pickles.
