Not so grey nomads
Could I please get a recommendation for a park in/near
Darwin that will not charge for all three children aged 6,4,2?

I'll watch this one too. We'll be there in late July early August with 7 & 11 in tow.

I think you'll have trouble finding one. Remember its holiday season up there now & every thing & everybody is fair game.....

We went to Tumbling Waters last year and found it to be one of the cheapest c/p's around
Darwin, it's not IN
Darwin though. It's close the wonderful Berry Springs but we liked it.
Quite a few with
young families there,
pool and enough space to kick a footy! Croc feeding twice a week etc

Hi Not so
grey Nomads
we stayed in the Oasis Caravan Park last November, with 4 kids, and they didn't charge us for them. Only catch was that we had to pay weekly. We paid $27 per night for a powered site. Not sure how different it would be in peak season though. It is about 20k out of town but it is an easy drive in. It was a nice c/p and the owners were very friendly and helpful.
On our trip around we found the best way to get cheaper deals was to ring and bargain with them. Pays to be cheeky sometimes!
Cheers
Michelle

ahhh that link that came up in my thread is not to the Oasis c/p in
Darwin - probably cause it is actually called the Oasis Tourist Park.
Here is the website:

Have you checked out Badger's?
Darwin Caravan Parks on Badger's
Although not all parks will be reviewed, and not all reporting had children with them, it will give you somewhere to start looking. Most parks have a website so you can
check out fees.

No, we have a patrol, but thought I had pictured your profile with a cruiser in past entries. Must have been mistaken. Ant

Hi Ant - We used to tow with a Patrol, but as a 3 litre auto it was only rated to tow 2.5 t. We've had the F250 since early 2007. We'll get done under the chit chat rule - so back on topic - I hope you find somewhere suitable within your time frame. We were lucky that we got a place at the CP we had chosen (we'd been told about it by a caravaner heading in the opposite direction at
Mataranka) that was big enough for us to manoeuvre into with our F250 which can be a problem. We'd planned to arrive in the morning for a better chance of getting in but the
free camp we went to had been changed to no camping, so we went on to
Darwin and got there during the afternoon. I can't recommend the CP any more as it has closed down. Keep looking; there seem to be quite a few little ones scattered around, some that don't take bookings at all, and different ones appear in different publications. What is your time frame?

It looks like Coolalinga CP for us. A 6 week stay is in the pipeline - I might have to work a little to cover it!
