G'day,
I need to go from
Sydney to
Adelaide and back in 2 weeks in early January with the Mrs and the tin lyds.
With so many roads to Rome, any suggested routes for the Chariot?
Cheers,
Stuart

G'day Lyds
I've done the trip a few times now, are you in a hurry to get there or are you hoildaying your way there?
The quickest way would be
Sydney,
Bathurst, West Wyalong, chuck a left just before
Balranald to Toolybuc,
Ouyen,
Pinnaroo,
Tailem Bend,
Murray Bridge then through the
Adelaide Hills into town. Takes about 18 hours at an easy pace.
If you're holidaying your way there and back, I'd head down through Wagga and dawdle my way along the
Murray River to Swan
Hill then across to
Adelaide. It'd be a pretty hot trip going the Dubbo/
Broken Hill route, especially if your kyds get bored quickly...its really up to you...horses for courses, like you say, all roads end up to somewhere!
Just my opinion....
Cheers

We're making it a holiday, so we don't need the quickest path.
I'm mindful of the heat so I like the idea of travelling along the Murray.
Cheers,
Stuart

G'day Lyds, Did a rush trip to
Sydney and back a year ago and went the West Wyalong track and back on the Hume Hyw. thro Wagga to
Mildura and
home. The Hume highway was by far the easier way but as a suggested route, take the Hume to Albury and follow the river to
Echuca, Swan
Hill,
Mildura,
Renmark and on to
Adelaide. The way
home from
Adelaide to
Murray Bridge,
Pinnaroo,
Ouyen, Toolybuc,
Balranald,
Hay and then either way from there. We are at
Berri and if you want any local info on camping spots etc etc get back to me. My photo will give you my E-addy.ne cede malis

Thanks Des.
Looks like a good plan to me.
I was also thinking about heading a bit further south, cutting thru the
Grampians and then down to the coast. But I'm a bit worried about not having enough time to this trip justice. Whereas your suggestion looks more manageable. Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Stuart
