I have a 2009 200 series turbo LC fitted with KDSS
suspension and OME 2'' lift kit.
I was hoping to install air bags to the rear
suspension for when fully loaded, but have been told it will not work with the KDSS
suspension or could damage the KDSS.
Is that correct? and has any one fitted them.

The advice you were given is incorrect.
I have Polyairs fitted to
mine.
The only possible effect on the KDSS is that the bags may limit the wheel travel in off road situations, but if you are towing or just touring: no problems.
Having said that, I have the OME 200kg springs fitted too, and the airbags were a waste of money.
The springs do everything I want.
Personally, I wouldn't bother spending the money.

Ditto, I have had air bags in the rear for about 18 months. I usually keep em at 5 - 10 PSI when empty, and 25 or so when towing or really loaded. They work
well with the KDSS and general set up.
The real issue is when you raise the
suspension 2" the KDSS can get out of whack. It seems to affect about 25% of installations and could be to do with the way
the springs are installed ... dunno why. If it happens, the KDSS needs to be bled or repressurised. Only Toyota can do the latter and it will set you ( or the installer if you negotiate right up front) about $300 from memory.

Can you ask a question based on your
suspension upgrade?
Does it increase your GVM?
We have recently purchased 200 landcruiser, 2009 too and find we're running quite heavy. Having taken out the 6, 7, 8 seats to allow for drawer system plus extra tank to increase fuel from 93 L to 163 L total we're now considering the next step?
We've already put air bags as a short term fix but when we've saved up we're considering a full
suspension overhaul.

jothefw, I am not quite sure what you ar asking but I got a suspemsion upgrade and it cost me $350 more to get a GVM upgrade to 3750KG. Make sure you get the right
suspension upgrade.
Mine cost $1800 with a 2" lift and new shockers. Hope that helps.

Hi Pling
I have KDSS on my 200, along with the ARB medium (OME722) rear springs and Coilrite airbags. When not towing or heavily loaded, the ARB
suspension is great and I run the airbags with minimum pressure (5psi). But when I am fully loaded and/or towing, the rear sags around ~2" so I put 30psi in the airbags and it levels it right out.
Previously (on my 80 series) I have tried using heavier springs and while they were great when heavily loaded, but they were way too stiff for around town. So on my GU I tried airbags and it won me over. The ability to vary the airbag pressure to suit the load is great as IMHO its too much an ask for a single spring rate to handle different loads
well.
When installing into the 200, you have to cut the bump stop down. As my vehicle is lifted, I left one of the "rings" on to account for the height - it has worked very
well.
Bump stop cut down to suit.
Airline passing thru bump stop to airbag
Cheers
Captain

All Air
Suspension in
Sydney has an air bag kit which replaces the original coils at the rear and is good for about 2,900 kg total. There is definitely one for the 100 series and I think they may have one for the 200 series too. I think Pedders is an agent. May be better than air helper springs. Just a thought.
