I see that on Treks road conditions that the road from Tilpa to Menindee on the western side is still closed. We went out there last week and asked the locals about the road conditions and they said it was open. We found the road in great condition with one puddle of water over about 10m long that you could ride a push bike thru. Cheers MickImage Could Not Be Found

Thanks for the update, we are looking at doing part of the Darling River Run in the July School Holidays, I only have 7 days and don't want to be on the road all the time, so may only do the section from Bourke to Wilcannia.

Any must places to see ? we are looking at staying at Idalia Station for 2 to 3 nights and Wilga NP for 1 to 2 nights before heading back to Sydney.
My Daughter wants to drive (Just got her Leaners)

Thanks
Dennis

Wilcannia toTilpa both east and western roads

The web site will give you a contact point for follow up -

AJ,
That website may say it is closed but I was out there last weekend and the road is open. As you can see from the photo the water is only about 10cm deep and 10m long. We camped at Tilpa weir then spoke to the publican and he said the road has been open for about a week before, we saw many cars go thru there that day.

Be careful driving on closed roads in the western division. Rumours of fines of $1000 a wheel including the spare dont sound that great. Roads are closed for a reason
