Peter,
All the caravan parks around
Darwin appear to have sites around the same price.
Although it was some years ago, we stayed at the
Shady Glen Caravan Park which was central to everywhere in
Darwin and surrounds.

It is o.k. if you can put up with the noise from the Airport and the metal recycling business next door...both go from early dawn to dusk and later , but otherwise it is close and handy to just about everything.

Hi Sarah,
Absolutely love it.
It looks a bit different than the photo. (I must update it)
It now sports a Bull Bar for extra protection.
Mine is the LT/R Turbo Diesel automatic and now has just over 30,000km on the clock.
Average fuel consumption showing on the computer display is 8.6l/100km.
This rarely changes even when towing the camper. My old Jackaroo was around 10l/100km so I am most happy.
You will also love it. A very capable vehicle indeed.

Hi Peter,
In the past, I've used Lee Point CP, about 10km to the NE. I like it coz they take tents, and it's
well away from highway and airport noise, so it's quiet. Also close to the ocean. Some reckon there are midgies, but I've found it no worse than anywhere else up there.
There have been rumours of it closing for some time (suburbia taking over), but a quick
check shows it's still there.
Re costs, they are all expensive :-)
cheers
Gerry

Currently at Lee Point for 5 nights it is $40 a night for 2 on a powered site don't know if its cheaper unpowered. Its okay and better than others in town. Took 1 look at KOA Malak and turned around I don't think they have spent a cent on maintenance since I stayed there 22 years ago, it was feral, and I am not easily put off. Big 4 quoted $58 a night (2A+2C) powered site, the other 4 starr was $71 a night powered site (2A+2c) Boomerang was $32 +ch but need to book in advance as they fill quick due to price.
