Drove that way this week towing a van. Good country but very wet. Camping at Porcupine Gorge NP but little else
Hughenden to The Lynd......mostly 60kmh sometimes 80 Bitumen and gravel in various stages of repair. Roadworks in three places
The Lynd to Einasleigh....rough gravel road with small sections of bitumen. Look at Copperfield Gorge at E.
Einasleigh to Forsayth...more bitumen...deep gullies and creeks so slow going and more roadworks.
Forsayth to Georgetown...some bitumen some gravel

Good campsite on Einasleigh River 1km west of Carpentaria Downs Station

Hi SIF 4X4, thanks for the heads up, hoping to be up that way in August. Don't you mean Cobbold Gorge which is SW of Forsayth? Can't find a Copperfield Gorge....W

Hi Warrie

No, its definitely Copperfield Gorge at the hamlet of Einasleigh. Its not wellknown or mapped but lies along Copperfield River. There is a low waterfall at the head of the gorge.Cobbold Gorge is south of Forsayth as you mention

Cheers
