I have to go to
Singleton tomorrow for the day and thought rather than going the Freeway would take a more senic route and enjoy the drive.
I was thinking either the
Putty Road or go
Wollombi way via the
Wisemans Ferry ?
any suggestions would be appreciated
Thankyou

Both much the same,
Wisemans ferry ahead by a pinch. If you have the time travel to
lithgow, take the castlereagh highway, turn off towards Rystone then take the
bylong valley rd Spectacular.

Thanks for that, I probably don't have time to go via
Lithgow this time but will keep it in mind.
Do you think Wisemans or the
Putty road is a nicer drive?

Depends where you live in
sydney. In the west go the
Putty Road. Or
Wisemans Ferry
East of Parramatta Take the old Highway from Hornsby follow the back roads to cessnock.
The
Bylong Valley is a great trip but it is the long way around to get to
Newcastle
I have done it on my Bike several times.
Cheers

]If you are going to
Singleton then
Putty rd is your answer. It is good run with only the section where you wind your way round the creek edge for approx 10kms that slows you down. Also there is a new road cafe opened this year at the half way mark 86km from Windsor or
Singleton as the old half way house up the road burned down 2yrs ago, the cafe also has free overnight [48hrs] caravan /camping with amenities for thoughs who are interested.

I travel this road often when going to visit daughter at
Newcastle way from
Kurrajong to avoid the F3 /penno rd traffic and find it more enjoyable

Hi Alby,
Prob the most scenic route you can take is to head south out of
Sydney and keep driving till you (eventually) reach
Singleton. It does take a little longer but what a drive.
Cheers Wilko

Thanks for all of your replies, I ran out of time this morning with all of the traffic so had to go via the expressway but came
home via the
Putty Road. It was a very enjoyable drive.
