Recently considering the same issues here - Kingfisher
camp (they have a web site) is a bit off-route possibly but I think I'll go north to there from
Lawn Hill, then east.
BTW-1.... the Bushtracker caravans site has a few DVD's that can be viewed on line - one of them features this top end area, including Kingfisher.

BTW-2 .... on the way into
Normanton, Burke & Wills' most northerly
camp (no. 119) is close by - was there a few years back - worth a look.

Assuming you have camped at Adels Grove, next stop is
Gregory Hotel, the river bed is a good site, busy but very nice or just
camp at the pub site ..... afer that you can duck down to the
Gregory at the Tirranna road (
Savannah way) next would be
Burketown, stay in the c/park or if you wish or go out to the river banks just out of
Burketown near the
bridge, again busy but still some sites along it, next would be the Lichardt Falls, nice spot and nearly always someone there, next at Burke n Wills site and next at Nomanton ...........
Cheers

A friend of
mine just went to Kingfisher, Below is her commentsL
“We have just got back from a trip up north, We went to Kingfisher - Kingfisher is a mess they haven't mown it properly or cleaned out the fire
places it just looked so untidy, the poor people running it are keen enough but have no idea no one had explained the watering system and he spent most of his life fixing pipes, its just as
well it has not been busy as no one explained the sewer system to him and he had no pump hooked up, just things in general were looking really run down. The last straw for us was, when we came to leave yes its all open to the south so away we went the road through the station was in a very bad way we get to the
gate by the
homestead it was pad locked, so we go to the house an overgrown dump no one
home, I go to the white house and had trouble getting there through the weeds and overgrowth no one
home, so I went back to the
gate and cut the chain, we didn't want to but we also didn't want to spend an hour going back to Kingfisher when we had been told it was all open we then got to the boundary fence it was locked so did the same. The road to
Lawn Hill hadn't been touched so we had a very challenging drive to Adel's.”
Take care.
