Gees, 5163 Km at maximum of 80k an hour. I guess you got to see quite a bit more scenery. Hope the lad enjoyed it. Cheers,Bob.

There are a lot of dirt roads in that itinerary. 80k's is good.
Father-and-son bonding - good.
Roadcraft taught - good.
Less-than-perfect road conditions experienced by learner driver - good.
4WD and vehicle handling experienced by learner driver - good.
Appreciation of our great country - good.
A bit of preparation, planning and self-sufficiency - good.
Recognition that you don't need electronic entertainment to survive - good. Recognition that you don't need incessant crap into and out of facebook, twitter et al to survive - good.

I'll bet you both enjoyed it and chances are there's a better than average P plater coming up soon, hopefully a dedicated camper and outback tourer.

Well done PradoMad

Hi JS

You would have had a lot more fun out there for sure and good on you. As for the speed, it is a safe speed to travel dirt roads that you are not sure of. I bet your son is still talking about it now.

Well done to you and your son.

Cheers

Stephen
