Hi all,

I am looking for a dog kennel in the NT while we explore kakadu and litchfield national parks. I've never put my dog in a kennel before and I've heard a few bad stories. So just wondering if anyone can recommend anything?

Thanks.

Hi
When we were up at Darwin with our tow dogs, and wanted to explore Kakadu, we teamed up with others that had a dog. We stayed at the Caravan Park at Mary River, on the Arnhem Hwy near Bark Hut Inn. We looked after their dog for a few days, then they looked after ours. It worked for us, as neither of us wanted to leave dogs in a kennel.
Cheers
Neil

The furry godmother is near the darwin airport.
Other than that I can't tell you any good or bad reports, however they have a website with rates and details.

I should have said that I would be more inclined to leave my pet at a boarding kennel than with someone in a new strange enviroment. I left my dog with friends while I went away and came home to find the dog had got out and went to the pound. They said they had rung the pound, however the dog wasn't there. I decided to go and have a look anyway and there she was and she was going to get the needle the next morning!
I have never liked the idea of a boarding kennel however at least you know your pet is is still going to be there when you get back.

We have left our blue heeler at the Furry Godmothers twice while we were in Darwin and they were great. Airconditioned, tick wash etc. 1300438779
