I'm based in
Sydney. My daughter has recently moved to Mt Isa. She doesn't have a vehicle. She needs one - car/ute - to get around town, as
well as travel to near and not so nearby towns. They'd be some dirt/gravel road trips in mind.
Budget is low - less than 5k.
Can anyone recommend a dealer?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mate in that price range buy privately. All you will get is a $2000 vehicle with a profit margin of $3000 tacked on top. And most cheap car dealers buy straight off the auction or wholesalers. If you buy private at least you can talk to the orinigal owner and find out service history etc. Most private sellers are honest and do not know how to cover up faults. The pother thing to think about if a vehicle has a fault most people trade it in, not spend three months trying to sell it privately. Still need to do the proper checks etc.

You may have trouble getting one in Isa, a few thing are against you with it being a "mining" town so income is high and they also seem to think there crud is worth more so you will pay HIGH for any car, used or new ....
Look in the near citys like
Townsville or even Brissy if you know someone and get it freighted up, 5K is not much for dirt trips and it is a VERY hot place in summer so needs to be in pretty good condition and a working A/c...
