80 Channe UHF

Hi all,

I have a Uniden UH015SX UHF unit mounted in the Pathfinder, is it upgradeable to take the new channels, or do I need to bin it?

It has been agood unit so I am reluctant to bin it if I dont have to.

Regards

Hi Barry H,

You will have to check with a cb radio shop wether your Uniden is re-programmable for eighty channels or not.

No need to bin just yet, the new channels are slotted between the current 40 (frequency wise) so they are still in use and will be for a few years yet.

The only Unidens that are capable of being upgraded are those that have been released recently and have the model number ending in NB (for narrow band).
Your radio is still legal for another 5 years or so.

Staying with 40 channels will be fine for a lot of people - unless you travel with a group like us - we all use Ch 60 now as it is nice and quiet and no rif-raf YET !!
