I am wondering why the whole post is not removed off the forum rather than leaving the title showing .

I just googled apost below that has been "moderated" and no doubt found the business.

Would it not be best to remove it completly

Di

PS - I have no IT skills whatso ever but I know on other forums posts are removed completly

often wondered the same - a bit annoying when what appears to be a good thread is moderated and even more so when it is still apparently there but not accessible.

Hi Di,

The decision to leave the post for a certain period before removing was one taken by the modsquad to allow people a reasonable amount of time to understand why the post had been moderated. Initially we removed them immediately but members then complained that a post had been removed and they weren’t aware of the reasons. To prevent any form of unnecessary confusion and angst, the decision was left to leave a moderated post for a period of time to allow visibility of the reasons it was moderated. The posts are then hidden in due course. The only exception are those that are duplicates or contain offensive material in the subject line (heading)

Hope this makes it clearer.

Regards, The Modsquad.
