Hi everyone, does anyone know if Copper Hill is stiil a hapnin thing? Heading up that way in a few weeks. Cheers, Dave.

Hi Dave, If you mean the one on the Painted Desert road, we drove past there a week ago and it is closed, there is a big sign and barrier at the entrance.

Hi Gado, I spoke to one of the girls at the pink pub and she said they are away til next tuesday. Dunno how reliable the info is......Anyway what was the road like? Cheers, Dave.

Hi Dave,
The painted desert is still great - the road between copper hill and Cadney Park has been recently graded and is good, the rest towards Oodnadatta was a bit variable (but not bad) until you hit the Coober Pedy - Oodnadatta road which was excellent.
The Oodnadatta track was being graded from both ends and nearly finished a week ago so should be as good as it gets!
There's camping and accom at Arckaringa and a fair bit of unofficial bush camping taking place in the area.
The girl we met at the Pink roadhouse was a backpacker from Italy with no local knowledge...
