Hi All
We are leaving
Townsville on Saturday heading for the
Silverton Gathering and will be travelling down on the Torrens Creek/
Aramac Rd and believe there is a
nice camping spot by a lake somewhere north of
Aramac, but can't see it on my maps.
Anyone know where it is please
Cheers Ray

Gday...
When you enter
Aramac coming in from
Torrens Creek, immediately at the
cattle grid as you hit the
Aramac town
boundary, is the
Aramac Campground. $15/night with power or stay four nights for $30. Good value.
To find Lake Dunn, after going over the
grid aforementioned, just keep going on and when you hit the T-
intersection, turn left and then 67km up the road is Lake Dunn. Road is narrow bitumen - pretty good condition - just be careful for the usual QLD back road issues. Watch carefully for roos, emu, cattle etc. even in the daytime. You will see the huge amount of roadkill on this road (and road into
Barcaldine).
Lake Dunn is a really lovely spot. $5/night no power - $10/night with power, although power sites are few. Amenities are brand new - big brick building with hot showers and all mod cons.
I was there about four weeks ago.
Cheers
John

Thanks John for that info and directions
We heard before that the lake was a good spot for a couple of days
Only 4 more sleeps then on the road for 6 weeks, can't wait.
The
Silverton Gathering sounds like it will be a good one.
We went to the
St George one and had a great time, so looking forward to this one
Thanks again John
Cheers Ray
