Hey there

We are heading up to Innamincka, Birdsville then through Windorah to the Coast after the Silverton gathering.

Was trying to get a handle on current diesel prices around those parts if anyone has been there lately.

have tried looking for the old fuel pricing pages, which don't seem to be around anymore, which is a pity as they were quite good of kept updated by people traveling.

Cheers

Fuel at Birdsville $1.74 at General Store & $1.70 at B/ville fuel supply. Fuel at Innaminka was $2.10 last week these prices are for Diesel.

Hi Richard

When in Birdsville, most people usually go to Birdsville Auto, after all it is straight across the road from the Caravan Park and a very big concern. About a month ago Diesel there was $1.74 per litre. If you go around to the Main Street and not quite opposite the Birdsville Hotel is Barry Gafney's Mobil service station, where your diesel is only $1.70 per litre.

Have a great trip.

Cheers

While Innamincka is a bit more isolated than some of the other country towns, I'm not sure that they can really justify being 30 cents dearer than anyone else nearby.

Hi Garry

It is called tourism and popular demand. Where else can you buy fuel in Innamincka, so they have everyone in the palms of their hands. Just like William Creek and Marree, they are milking the tourist, yet a little way down the track at Lyndhurst, diesel was only $1.639 per litre, a savings of more than 30 cents per litre.

Cheers

Innamincka just take the piss, from fuel to anything they sell in the store and the pub as well. Great place to go as long as you bypass the profiteers.

Richard,
you have good cause to ask the question and the prices given by others are correct.

I chose to buy no fuel at Marree and went on to Lyndhurst to fuel.

Interestingly when I was in Hawker the main servo was 5 cents a litre dearer and everyone was fueling there. Over the road was Chris's Mechanical, very clean and well presented but it didn't have the big bright lights.

Having large tanks I went from Hawker via Innamincka to Quilpie and fueled at the mobil depot, again they were 5 cents a litre cheaper than the servo.

Thanks to all who have replied. Exactly the information I was seeking. It's a pity that the old fuel pricing page seems to no longer be here on the site as I feel it was a very valuable addition depending on if people updated it regularly.

Perhaps David could bring it or a new improved version back, as it would be used I think by many people.

Cheers
