I would like some feed back on the ARB CKMP12 Portable Compressor RRP $349-v- the Bushranger Black Max RRP $299 or Max Air 2 RRP $396.
I have not read any negative reports on the products so I thought I would ask this forum.

Many thanks

I've bought the ARB about two years and three outback trips ago and it hasn't failed me yet.

Mine is fixed to the vehicle.
Have 2 extensions.......Absolutely brilliant.
Done for my newly installed rear ARB Air Locker... That is brilliant too

I also have a Big Red +, "real Portable", as well, but I do like the fact of just winding up only air hoses. It now lives in the Shed.

Cheers

Hi CraigB

I was just told to go to this web site which will give me a comparison

http://www.overlander.com.au/equipment/index/full/88/12-Volt-Air-Compressor-Comparison

After reading it I will purchase a ARB.

Thanks

I cant remember the compressor that won, I was reading that very magazine this morning, but it wasnt the ARB one. It had price categories as well as to which compressor won each price range. I will see if I remember to have a look when I finish work and find the winners for people reading this post.

The thing to remember is reliability for long term ownership and use.

Sure there may be cheaper compressors and ones that put out more air but are they going to be doing that in 3 to 4 years time..... what about parts availability now and in the future?

A $200 high out put compressor may workout to be more expensive then the $349 ARB one if you have to replace the $200 one every couple of years.

ARB are tried and proven...... last thing I would not want if to come of the sand with 20psi in the tyres only to find the cheap compressor has failed and you have to drive 100 kilometers to air up.....

We use twin CKPM12 compressors with a fan and a 20Lt air tank.

We have the ARB and the comparable Bushranger (Supermax) and value for money the ARB one is the best. If you tow its even better because you can get an extension air line that allows you to do the car and camper trailer without having to move the compressor. As for speed and performance I rate it equal to the Bushranger but for cost efficiency the ARB one gets my vote

We use ours just about every weekend for training and it services as many vehicles as need airing up and has never stopped. So the ARB one is our pick based on performance and value for money

Sounds like the ARB is a great compressor and stands the test of time and hard work.
Appreciate the feedback RobA
