Was up at Hill End, NSW at the weekend with a mate and a few others. Returned to the Village Camping Area at Hill End after a day trip on the Sunday and noticed a large green truck set up on the hill. Low and behold Navigator 1 was still en route home after the Silverton gathering. Enjoyed Chicka and Rob's camaraderie for the evening around their 'pig' pot belly stove.

Don't know about you Richard, but i think they have forgotten where they live, anyway what's wrong with life on the road provided you have a Navigator.
Cheers

Hi Richard,
It was good catching up with you and Ross.
On Wednesday we decided to leave Hill End and travel to Bathurst via the Macquarie River and Ophir. The river was wide and flowing strongly and being alone, we decided not to take the risk of crossing.

So, after retracing our steps we explored the Golden Gully

and then stopped off for Devonshire Tea at Rose Cottage when back in Hill End

Our stay back in Sydney should only be brief.

The river in the photo is actually the Turon, the Macquarie meets the Turon about 5ks downstream.

Hi Wilko,
Yes we were amongst the many at the Birdsville races.

Thanks Pete re the Turon and the Macquare Rivers. I'll have to sharpen my pencil if I am to remain the Navigator.

Recommended the route as I thought the river would have dropped a bit and you would have enough clearance and weight to cross the river. We turned back the previous day after I waded a quarter of the way across with the river up over my knees and only just able to stay on my feet. LOL

BTW Peter that's the ford at Dixons Long Point on the way to Ophir. ;)

Well they are closer to home than we are, we've only just crossed into Victoria, camped at Pink Lakes.
