Mallee highway

Leaving
Adelaide soon, and was wondering if anyone had travelled the Mallee Hwy recently. any good
places to see or stop, road conditions.
We are heading to
Balranald then east to
Orange, NSW.

Kieth, the Mallee highway is a good road that even has a bitumen surface on it.
You pass through a couple of town most notable is
Lameroo and
Pinnaroo.
There is a great
bakery at
Pinnaroo in the main street as
well as a near new
toilet stop across the road with plenty of room to pull up with a van.
Caravan Parks at both towns.
Just over the border is
Murrayville. and then Cowangie. At Cowangie just out of town is the
Kow Plains Home stead
well worth a look at.
You are driving between the
Big Desert NP and the Murray sunset NP as
well. If you have time, plenty to see and do there as
well.
