I looked very closely at the Gunyah and was comparing it to the AORC Quantum. The marginally cheaper price of the Gunyah was attractive, but when I started comparing the quality of build, supplied fittings, awning type, chassis design, hatch dust sealing, kitchen layout etc, etc, etc... it was no contest.
While on paper the Gunyah looks the goods, its the simple things like a vacuum flush ceramic
toilet vs a chemical
toilet. One you can dump anywhere safely (inlcuding long drops) and the other needs to be disposed of properly.
For me, the other big differences were the rollout awning, it is SO much easier tha the bag awning. Then there is the kitchen bench space. Check out how much you have between the two - and then the pantry is part of the kitchen and right where you need it for cooking.
My Quantum has the optional kids beds, one on the lounge and the other a bunk above the main bed. We also have a 4 bike rack on ours - doubles as a wood rack too.
I could go on and on about the differences, I spent a lot of time comparing then but in the end I put my money where my mouth is and bought the AORC Quantum. I have been VERY happy with my decision. Its a lot of money to spend, so do your homework and get whats best for you. Am happy to provide more info about the Quantum if you want.
Cheers
Captain

Gidday Mike vH, We have owned a Gunyah for about 2years.
during this time we have travelled through central australia and the kimberly area, we have traversed the Plenty Hwy twice and the Tanami Rd once, as
well as part of the
Gibb River Rd,
Lawn Hill Nat Pk and heaps of other "roads" tracks and Hwys..I guess we have covered around 25 thousand K's with it .
We tow it behind a 120 series diesel Prado and find it tows beautifully, it has never given me a moments concern whilst towing.
We looked hard at the quantums etc before we purchased the Gunyah, but found value for money was much better with the Gunyah, we also liked the single bed layout as we dont have to crawl over each other to get out!
The awning is easy and quick to put up (we also have a full annex )the chem
toilet is no bother at all, we love our Gunyah and are planning our next trip back to the Kimberlies as
well as
Flinders Ranges, Old Ghan Line etc.
If you have any queries I would be happy to answer them as best I can.
Cheers Steve.
