UHF 477mhz CB Aerial

I have a aerial stainless steel 1310 mm in length with a coil at the base How do I know if it is a UHF aerial.
The base I have is just the plastic base can you tell me what is required in the base to connect the aerial to and coax as I can make the connection if I know what is required and the length of the coax.

It actually sounds like the top half of a HF aerial, the section that goes on top of an auto tune.

Is the thread hole at the bottom of the spring about 20mm wide?

It may be easier for us to identify it if you can post up some photos.

If it has a 1310mm length of unbroken stainless steel then its not a uhf Greg.

Possibly a 5/8 amateur 2m whip as they use about 1300mm with small base coil.

When you post or reply their appears some options at the bottom of your text entry window - you should have an option titled Insert Image.
