Just in case anyone misses it (there has been minor comment elsewhere here) ....item on Radio National today ....
Winton Shire reports the
Lark Quarry Dinosaur centre is closed until further notice - large walls in the place are in danger of falling over - major rebuild work is required it seems. There has been a wrangle of sorts with architects and builders, but in the meantime the shire doesn't have the $ to fix it.

This has been going on for years. We visited
Lark Quarry in 2007 and the guide told us then that there was a dispute because the architects had not been able to make it 'climatically correct' without the need for aircon, and one of the mud (???) walls was starting to collapse.
As usual, everyone was saying it was someone else's fault. Nothing unusual in that I suppose.

Yep - its the mud walls still - finally past the point of safety I guess - it's a unique icon on the world 'dinosaur trail'.....with the money made in
Winton (and the region) from the Lark connection, my guess is it'll be open for next winter's tourist season :-o).
