Hi Lee,

BBQ doesn't have a grill?
Perhaps you should replace it, or supplement it with a Baby 'Q' Weber.
Don't have one myself but have looked at them and a mate brings his along on some camping trips.

We have a Coleman Road Trip BBQ which has half hot plate and half grill. A little bit on the "large size" though, but it goes on some trips.
We also have a Cobb Cooker which includes a plate with holes in it which is close to a grill as you can get. This bit of gear gets a good workout, but you need to allow time to ignite the Heatbeads and wait until they are burning evenly. Only need half a dozen.

Our third line of offence is a half and half BBQ plate which sis over the campfire.
Love this method but again you need to wait until the campfire has generated sufficient coals.

For fast setup, the gas fired Weber Baby 'Q' is probably the quickest, but I'm never in any hurry when camping.

I think he means an top grill, the clue being cheese on toast.
Some camping stoves have a grill.

Ah!

I see, I see.

In that case Lee, there is a couple of portable gas stoves incorporating Grills that would grill your cheese and oysters, etc.

Both Companion and Gasmate have grills incorporated into their portable stoves.

The gasmate product looks an appealing price ($119.95 at present).

G'day Lee,

Not sure if you want to cook using wood but I borrowed an OZPIG for 4 days recently & cooked up a storm. Cooked bread, roasts & grilled with it. What appealed me was the small amount of wood it used.

I liked it so much I just purchased one for myself last weekend so I can't wait for Christmas to try it out.

Cheers
Stu
