Dear Members,
You may recall a week and a half ago I posted that we were departing on the WASTE (WA Sustainable Transport Experiment) Project to cross the Nullarbor on two solar powered vehicles, and pushbikes (to give the 18 students from Year 8 to 10 a bit more to do).
We have so far accomplished 727 km, and met a couple of folks on the road who mentioned that they read my original post.
Today we are making our way, with the solar vehicles trailered on account of the weather, into Kalgoorlie. It has been a wonderful trip, and although we are not going to meet our original 1,000 km target, it has certainly been a worthwhile experience.
Thank you to all of those who encouraged us along the way, and a big thumbs up to the Truckies who were very patient with our slow moving convoy. We hope our radio procedure made it easier!
I have kept a blog of the trip in the
Blogs section. Over the next few days there will be some edits, as
well as photos for your perusal.
Hope to see some of you in Kalgoorlie! We have 18 exhilarated students who would love to show off our Solar Car (Sungroper) and Solar Moke to anyone keen for a look.
Charles

Hello
Your previous thread on this same subject is still alive and
well so please re-post your comments above there. Starting a new thread on the same subject every week or so makes it hard for
forum users to follow. For this reason we have locked this thread.
Cheers
(and good luck on trip)
