I mightn't log on for a couple of days and when I do there could be three or four pages and i just skim through then looking at the title so see anything of interest. Well I intend coming back when I have more time but I can't see anywhere that I can change the time of last visit so I can go back.

Is this available or not and how do you do it if it is?

You can go back by using the computers history ( that's where deviants come unstuck ) or you can use the "Forum Latest RSS FeedPage 1 of 1740 : 1 2 3 4 5 Next " down the bottom and on top the list of threads.

Meggs

I know exactly what you mean.

The closest I can get is to display the list in date order and hope the old memory serves me well.

I scan backwards until I figure I have been back to when I was last on by looking at the information to the right of each thread. The date and time of the last post is there and this is the best I can suggest.

But if I have been away for a while I don't bother. It's not that important really. It's like recording the news or getting the newsagent to hold on to the news papers so that you don't miss anything while away.

I am not trying to be smart Meggs just saying that in the scheme of things is it really a worry. I guess this comes from the fact that I don't even bother taking a mobile phone with me. It's filed away in the top drawer. Each to his/her own though. We have a sat phone that is reserved for emergencies and usually 99% turned off.

Hi Muz

Wouldn't that then miss any "older" thread that has had a recent post added?

I understood what Meggs wrote to mean that Meggs was trying to find anything that happened since last log on. Including new threads as well as new posts to old threads.

The inadequacies of the way people now write!

I think that between us we may have answered the thread!!

I'll see if I can write is a bit better.

Now I log on on 5th Dec at 20:30hrs and see all the posts and followups.

I am away and log on on 10th Dec at 22:30 hrs and there are five pages so I scroll through them and intend coming back to look at a few posts as I am tired and want to look at them in more detail.

I then log on on 11th Dec at 08:30 when I have more time and I only get the posts and followups from 10th Dec at 22:30 and I can't go back to the group between 5th and 10th Dec.

I hope that explains it

I was logged on yesterday and I just scrolled back to threads for the 29th October. Nothing missing that I could see and stopped there.

How is the forum displayed? In date order or in Response Time?

Anyone help out here???

Excellent.

You had me worried then.

I better switch everything off and disconnect the phone line. Lots of local lightning.

You can select My Home - Forum Updates which displays unread posts and updates since last logon.

That is the problem If I log on today and it was the first time in a week there are pages of posts so when I come back to go through the rest my next logon removes all the post updates and the updates start from the last logon.

When its displayed in this order that Bill mentioned or in Response Time order then you only go back until the date and time shown on the right is near or past when you last checked it out.

Meggs,

I read the forum through Google Reader. Just subscribe and it will feed the messages to reader and you can scroll back as far as you like.

Meggs, you still need to click the thread watch button on each one you want to watch.
