The youngest daughter and her partner arrived in
Bundaberg on thursday, after spending 5 days here in
Winton with us over Christmas.
Seems the aircon idler pulley on their early model Challenger decided to chuck in the towel, and a visit to local Mitsubishi agent didn't produce the answer they wanted. 4-6 weeks from Japan!!!!!
After much searching around Bundy, they rocked up at Autobarn, got a pulley, and a new belt, and are now on their way to Brisvegas, to see our eldest daughter, her hubby & our newish grandson.
Daughter said the Autobarn looked pretty new, with lots of "good stuff", and best range of idler pulleys in Bundy too.
Good outcome, no affiliation etc.
Bob.

I had same issue years ago with my 4runner - new idoler pulley was like $150+ - THE UNITS are sealed - so all i basically done was grind the welds - put new bearings in ( $4.00 ) and tig welded a few spots to seal back up again
lasted years --- Moral to story - dont just accept first price and availability especially from dealers ...

Yeah, I've rebuilt plenty over the years(mostly Cat ones), but mainly ones with a circlip, not the "sealed" ones.
