Canning May 2012

We are heading up the Canning ex Wiluna approx May 20th 2012. Very well prepared 2011 76 series Landcruiser V8 diesel and a fair bit of outback experience - Cape York, Birdsville, Gibb River, Tanami, Lake Eyre.......

Our plan is maximum 18 days.

Interested in one or two other vehicles to accompany us - no trailers, diesel only, highly capable vehicles and compatible crews.

Profile - two old mates ex Melbourne, enjoy a good red, cleansing ale and working on our bucket lists

If interested, let me know and we can talk

We, my mate & I, are interested, coincidentallly we both enjoy a small glass or two of a fine red ourselves after a cleansing ale at the end of the day.

Bit of backgroung on us, I am a business owner and my mate is a professional in Government services so are not a pair of yobbos, we are both working through our bucket lists before we get too old to travel in those places that may require good physical fitness.

I own a 2009 GU 3L CRD TD Patrol with 25K on the clock from new, Winch, Maxtrax, LR Tank, HF Radio, EPIRB, OME w/2" Lift, MT ATZ, Dual batteries, fridge and drawers.

Have done Finke River via Uluru - Kings Canyon- Glen Helen - Palm Valley - Boggy Hole - Old Ghan Track - Mt Dare - Oodnadatta, Cape York, Simmo (twice), Birdsville (lost count), William Creek / Lake Eyre ( 4 times) , Flinders, Border Track, Robe, Stranded 5 days @ Mungerannie in Sep 2010 (closed roads) and mostly solo as a team, and am dead against trailers of any persuasion.

We typically swag it to ensure a trouble free set up & pack down and are done and dusted in about 1/2 hour both ways

Look forward to hearing from you

Sounds like a marriage made in heaven!

Cruiser running new Mud Terrains with three spares, fridge, drawers, 2 "lift, Old Man Emu suspension, UHF, Sat ph, winch, Foxwing plus Oztent, LR fuel tank, 50l fixed water tank.....

Aim to avoid need for fuel drop by going thru to Kunawarritji - approx 1100km

John and I are both retired but pretty active - Kokoda a few years ago and John has just been climbing in Nepal, as you do.....

Suggest you give me a call 03 5984 2639 and we can set up email exchanges/mobiles etc

My Wife and I planning up to a 3 month trip from Melbourne including the Gunbarrel, Canning, Kimberley and possibly the Simpson (again).

Very experienced with outback travel - spent 3 years travelling OZ back in 2000 and did the cape, kimberley, simpson and the centre.

Planning on doing it by ourselves if we dont find anyone going as we have a well setup vehicle with satphone & HF, but would prefer to do it with others for both the experience and also safety in numbers.

Like you guys enjoy a cleansing ale or drop of red and the Wife is a great cook and used to catering for up to 500 people!!

We have a well setup Prado, with winch, front & rear diff locks, dual spares & 100l of Water, HF Radio & Satphone.

Although our 4wd is petrol we have a main 170l, aux 70l & will carry 2x20l jerry cans giving us a range of about 800-900k's.
Like you guys we plan to avoid the fuel drop scenario and prefer to get fuel from the Aboriginal communities.

We are flexible on dates so would be happy to talk further.
If interested please contact us at amorton6866@gmail.com
cheers
