Hi all,

Im in the market for a tandem axle 8 x 5 trailer. Ill use it mainly for the usual taking rubbish to the tip carting firewood etc but also to go camping with the tinny loaded on the top and the rest of the things SWMBO must have to be able to camp.

I'd like a 2000kg gvm and load sharing axles. There are heaps of standard run of the mill ones but i'd to have it built to my own specs (way over engineered).

Any suggestions of a good manufacturer who isn't going to charge like the light brigade would be appreciated.

Cheers Wilko

There must be someone closer these these two for you, but for starters try Woods Trailers at Nemingha (Tamworth) or Guest Trailers at Gunnedah
Both are manufacturers who trade on their name.

G/Day Wilko,... Google is probably your friend here, some time a go i had similiar thoughts, and can remember a company down at MooreBank that had every trailer imaginable,..( SWMBO cut the idea short...LOL.).can't for the life of me think of their name now,..but probably worth your investigation.

Cheers Axle.

I know its some distance for you, but Smart Trailers in Glen Innes manufacture an excellent custom designed/built product.
It may be worth your while speaking to Leon on 0400 731 444 re your requirements.
I have no affiliation with above, but do know Leon quite well and you would find him to be very honest and ethical.

G'day Wilko, I sourced an offroad 7 by 4 from Quality Custom Trailers at Minto.
Used it as the base for a C/t & found it excellent. A very amenable Indian gent with
a penchant for "folders" did a very good deal. They will build or alter to suit your
needs. Guarantee ??..."If it ever break, we fix for free". Never had to test that out.
cheers.....oldbaz. ...has Elvis left the building?

Thanks Old baz,

Elvis was put back a week this year which put a spanner in the works. People book the same accommodation a year in advance and the date only came out three months ago. Itll be on this weekend coming.

Its a cracker of a weekend if you can get to it.
