Hi Pete

Regardless of what your do fit, lowering your tyre pressure will make the biggest difference..

Take Care

Cheers

Good call Steve
How many articles have we all written about dropping tyre presures ?

BTW....I have got Old Man Emu's for 3 years now, they have done the Gunbarrel, The Canning, The Kimberley (GRR), and Cape York, and still henging in there.

Soft ride on the front, and firm rid on the back..

Cheers
Bucky

Check out Bilsteins. Wouldn't get any other. They took heaps of punishment on our son's rally car so after getting the nod from a few mates and our mechanic we got a set fitted. They were still cool after the extreme corrugations on the Peninsular Development Road, which was in need of a serious grade. Speed was around 80KPH. The ride was excellent. A cup of coffee in the console did not spill when we flipped the lid off it for a tick to have a look.

Gordon

To tell you the truth I do not know. That's what I pay the mechanic to worry about.

If you realy want to know I will call him and ask. But I doubt if I will get him until Monday. He is taking the whole four days off in the bush as part of the preparation for the Finke race.

Thanks Phil - don't go to any trouble but maybe next time you are talking to him you could ask and then post a reply? Thanks.

Morning Gordon

What about going to the Bilstein site and send them an email with your car specs including a max weight estimate for the individual front and rear axles. Can't hurt to ask.

Try here: service@bilstein.com.au

Bilstein site in Sydney: http://www.bilstein.com.au/

There are also offices in other states as shown on the Contact Us email page.

You may have to get a different one to ours depending on your car. Don't forget the protection sleeves to stop the rocks and stones from damaging them. I do not know if they are Bilstein shields or not, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Although I have Bilsteins on the Prado, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ironman big bore foam shockers. I had them on the Discovery on our last big Outback trip, 10,000kms including the CSR & had no problems at all.
It all depends on how much you want to spend.

Have an NT (2010) diesel auto Paj towing a Tvan - original suspension too soft for towing so upgraded to Tough Dog springs and shocks with 50 mm lift plus rear airbags. Still gives comfortable highway ride but just a bit noisier around town on uneven sealed roads. Changed original highway tyres to BFG ATs - good off road and okay on highway. Good mileage so far.

G'day Greendog, I had a NP Pajero with King springs & Koni adjustable. The rear springs were load sharing or progressive. Did numerous desert trips, mountains & heaps of corregration never a problem. I now have a NT with OME fitted & have only done one desert trips with heaps of corregation and so far so good. I also opted for the same rear set up as the NP because I was towing a Off Road Camper weighing about 2 tonne. I do not & have never had the need for air bags in the rear. I was told sometime ago that Kings make springs for ARB & Lovells supply TJM but I have never confirmed that. The ride around town & highway is firm but not overly so with the suspension working very well off road. Not trying to tell you how to drive but in the rough stuff especially, slow down, drop tyre pressures o, the vehicle & trailer & wait for all the fools to come racing pass you!!!

Agreed....

Try Toperformance Suspension in Bayswater. They distribute Kings and Konis for Aus.

Very knowledgeable about suspensions. Just had my camper trailer Koni's rebuilt for about $100 each...good as new.

Chers,
