There's a crowd down Logan way ... opposite the hospital in the industrial area. Don't know their name but been there a few times. Best place to start. Check Yellow Pages.Fidei defensor

Had one of those once and when it didn't perform I rang Errol Croft the local refridgeration mechanic in Dowerin WA. (abit far away for you I know) He said to turn it upside down and tumble it about a bit. Worked a treat too

Russell,
yeah I should have remembered as Pud above said......try turnng the fridge on its side , upside down and then the other side...for about a day each side/end. They can get internal blockages be it either corrosion or crystalisation (when the solution inside turns to a salt)

This may unblock the pipes or return the salt to a solution.

Remember to check the chimney for heat when running ...if it doesnt get hot then the fridge cant work.

If it still doesnt work toss it away.

The caravan people should be able to direct you to a repairer. A typical fridgie wouldnt be able to help as these things do not in any way resemble a domestic firdge when it comes to how they work..Wow! am I cute

Good suggestion - I've turned it upside down for a couple of days but not on its side.. I'll give that a whirl and see how it goes! Thanks for all the responses!

Russ

There is a mob in Sydney called Gas and Electric refrigeration. They did a great job on my old Chesscold some years back. They may be able to put you in touch with a Brisbane office or associate. The full service on mine cost about $100

Good luck

Hi Russ- keen to know how you got on as I have yhe same problem with a three year old Electrolux. I have done all the tipping and rocking imaginable but to no avail,
Have heard the suggestion of putting a sola fan on the back of the unit to enhance air circulation. Have found a supplier of such a fan (cost about $100) but have not done any thing yet . Mine gets quite cold at night but as soon as the day warms up it just dies! Same thing on all three fuels. Have cleaned flue and sealed rear compartment to aid air flow, even to moving out a couple of inches to allow more room at rear but to no avail.
The van was in storage for about 18 months but has now had about three weeks of turning and shaking. Very frustrating. Have a 12 volt fan that is now installed but not yet tried, If that works I well get the sola unit.
Best of luck , Darc
