G'day all !
I'm heading north for a couple of weeks driving someone elses 200 series and was wondering if the 200 has a 12 volt socket in the rear compartment and if so does it take the male Hella plug I have on my Engel fridge cord or do I have to get the standard cigarette lighter style plug ? Also where abouts is the socket located ?
Thanks
Gazz

The early ones didn't but After about mid 2009 they do. It is a cigarette socket and like most OE fittings is wired to the ignition I believe.

Late model 200's have a 12 volt cigarette lighter style outlet on the left side of the vehicle it is l'ive' when the ignition or accesssorries are swithed on.
After driving the 200 for a couple of weeks you wont want to give it back!!!

Thanks Tony
There are two 200's we are taking from
Adelaide to
Darwin - thru the Flinders,
Marree,
William Creek,
Oodnadatta, Mt Dare, up to Alice then on to
Darwin. One is a 2007 GXL diesel auto and the other is a 2008 VX diesel auto. It's going to be terrible - because not only do I get free fuel, free meals, free beer, free accommodation I'm getting paid as
well ! One of the cars will get left in
Darwin for sale and I get paid to bring the other one back to
Adelaide with my fridges etc where it will go on sale. I have 1st opportunity to buy it for a reduced price but I have just recently signed up for a new XLT Supercab Ford
Ranger 6 speed auto - due in May.
Cheers

Gazz,
If you have a genuine Hella Plug on your fridge cable it should accept a red collar to adapt the Hella "merit" plug to fit into a standard cigarette socket.
Easy enough to change over. All you need is a screwdriver.
I use the Hella plugs on all of my lower current 12v gear. The collars tend to lose themselves if you don't store them in the same place each time.
This is the one you need
