From a photo I have just seen, i'm guessing Brown Mountain is going to be closed for a little while. Or at least that is what those in
Bega are telling me.
Photo (which I cannot post here) is of the road with some of it being washed away.
I can send it to someone who can post here if they wish.

I would't want to use it. The road is split all the way to the centre line.

The ABC seemed to imply that the road was closed. From the footage of the area it ought to be closed if it isn't.

I think the whole section of road will need to be redone. The photos I have show half a lane gone, and cracks up to the centre line, creating a slab like appearance. Who knows how soft the mud is under the "good" half.
