Anybody travelling north or south that needs to go through Wagga Wagga, be aware that a large porton of the city is being evacuated due to fears the river is going to burst its banks.

If it does, the intersection of the Sturt and Olympic H/way will be under water till it runs off, however long that will take. Wether it will be passable or not, remains to be seen.

Other towns down river, Narrendera, Yanco, Griffith, etc are also being evacuated.

Check road conditions before setting out for your days travel. You might need to go a more scenic route.

The Sturt is closed at Forest Hill, and I think the Olympic is closed at The Rock.

You can drive through Wagga. River peaked at 10.56 at 4pm and did not top the CBD Levee. Same cant be said for North Wagga though. The Sturt Highway to Wagga is open with a small diversion in town. The Olympic is open north / south but out to Narranderra is currently closed. Leeton, Uranna, Narranderra, Griffith etc have had flash flooding troubles and now expect major flooding as our water moves down-river. Check the RTA live traffic site.
