Taken the plunge.

After following explore oz for the past year and finding it an informative and worthwhile site I finally did it and became an explore oz member. Last year we travelled the Birdsville Track and this year plan to travel up the centre and over to the west and then back to Vic. We plan to do a lot of free camping but am aware that near some major towns/cities this may not be option. We do not wish to tie ourselves down to an itinerary so therefore we are not planning to book at any CVP's. I have camp 6 book. I notice that a lot of people suggest booking in at Broome. My question is. What is the closes free camping site near Broome if any that is not in the camp 6 book?
