We've been using our trusty old
Bedourie camp oven for over 25 years. Its been great for cooking just about everything, especially damper, but we've never done a batch of scones in it. In the kitchen at
home, our simple and never-fail
scone ingredients recipe is SR flour, lemonade and cream, but don't know how this does in a
camp oven.
Just wondering what the bush cooking experts out there reckon is the best
scone recipe for
camp ovens.
Thanks
Poitr

We use the same recipe as yours in our Cobb cooker - the scones are fantastic.

Hi Poitr,
Treat your
camp oven just the same as your oven at
home.
No reason to change a successful recipe.
Try baking a loaf of bread in the
camp oven. Yum!

We use 300ml carton of cream same amount of water (wash the carton out) and enough self raising flour to make up dough (approx 4 cups)
Some people add a pinch of salt but we don't
Works fine
Cheers Kevin

Image Could Not Be Found Hillbilly oven, middle of the

Palm Valley NT.
'She of the Expeditions' says these were 2 cups SR four, 200ml milk, 100ml longlife cream, pinch of salt and half tspn of baking soda.
