OK but it is also shorter.

As for your trip to see all those places in the time mentioned you are going to have to spend a lot of time at the wheel.

To do it justice I suggest you start to cull your list of things to see. Maybe go across through Isa to Darwin, the Kimberly area and then down the Tanami to the Centre. You would miss Perth and the South West but it is a more manageable distance.

Have fun planning and travelling.

Hi Duncs,
Thanks for that where do you start (culling that is ) your idea of the Tanami might be the trick at least i would not be driving the same roads as i have not been down that one done the road from Darwin to perth years ago through top springs also that would let us see the rock as even though i lived in the alice for 9 months never got to see it. Have you doen the road and if so what is it like.Home For Xmas

Have you considered flying back to Sydney for the wedding and then continue the trip without losing too much time travelling.ne cede malis

Yep,
have thought of flying from Perth to Sydney and back and will most likley to do that, thought i would just do a quick run around the black top but then realise what i am like and would want to stop off everywhere and that the time that would take, funny though i got married in Sydney some 35 years ago and was then living in Port Hedland and took 10 days to drive accross the roads were not that good in those days it seem i am always crossing the country for weddings but its only been 2 in the last 35 years.Home For Xmas

G'day, why don't you meet my wife and I at Ularu in late July or possibly beginning of August then we can head off across the Gunbarrel to Wiluna then north to Newman, Port Hedland(spent 2 1/2 years working there) then to Broome, Kimberley, Darwin. Then what we want to do is to go to the bottom of the cape, across to Cooktown and then wind our way south or back into the centre.
This trip is definately going ahead it's just part of the route to be worked out. We live in Warburton, north east of Melbourne. Can you? give out email addresses safely on this site?
What do you think?, you may not want company

MightyQ

It's interesting to note that most of the inane responses come from those that haven't forked out the 50 bucks .... empty vessels and all that.

Cheers and enjoy your trip.Fidei defensor

I am terribly sorry.
Didn't mean to offend anyone...just a poor attempt at humor. I didn't know I had to pay to crack a joke..

However, as you expected the response I gave you, why comment?

What I did not expect was the devisive comment you and your buddy cooked up which eludes to there being an "us and them" segregation on the board between members and those who are not members.

If you are dissatisfied with people who are not members and who make the odd funny remark, petition the owner of the website to restrict access only to members.

Enjoy the rest of your xmas season

What I forgot to say is that I think the attempt you are making to travel with someone else is a fantastic idea and a great way to meet people with common interests. It also is a little easier due to the fact that we get some idea of what sort of person/people we are trying to hook up with. My wife and I met with and have become great friends with more than a dozen people we met via internet common interest groups (fishing related) during our 2 year trip through the northern part of Australia.

My only advice is don't hook up with somone with a loud snoring problem....sound carries at night....
