Gibb River Road

The Gibb River Road is the 4WD option of the 2 main routes crossing the Kimberley from east to west (or vice versa) and provides access to the numerous gorges that are the main highlight.

Anyone know what's happening regarding the Gibb River road, is it open yet ?

This will give you all the details...looks like at the moment, it's open as far as Kalumburu turn off from the West and Pentecost River from the East. These could change in a couple of days I guess....

I am also waiting on the western side for the Gibb River Road to open. According to the report below it is still closed from Mt Barnett to Home Valley.

The previous week's report stated that grading has started on this section.

Can more detailed information, for example how long it will take to before it will be opened, be obtained anywhere? From Mt Barnett Roadhouse perhaps ?
