Comment: 4WD Treks Close to Sydney

It would be good if description would specify what type of 4WD cars benefit from the book. I have an AWD and wouldn't know if some tracks would be too rough for it. Being a woman, some tracks may require "manpower" to operate a vehicle. There are more and more single women out there who also want to enjoy the more wild aspects of the great outdoors via a AWD/4WD. Mamaluchka

Hi There! I thought the book covered that aspect fairly well. Recent rains and the like will change the conditions but common sense should prevail. You could join a 4x4 club with similar vehicles and you will meet others with similar concerns and you will learn a lot that will give you confidence to do the sort of travel you enjoy!! Michael

I would agree....if they say suitable for softroaders.....you can be sure ANY softroader won't have a problem........unless it rains.......but in some circumstances, that can make a softroad track turn into a fully locked extreme track..

Like any track....and any vehicle...if you don't like the look of it....turn around and go back...

The Subaru club subaruclub.com.au are a great bunch of people and do regular treks and camping trips close to Sydney. They cater for all types of cars and drivers not just beefy rock crawlers. Having a Subaru is not a requirement. Some are regulars on this site. Cheers
