HI ALL

Was wondering if it is possible to tow a Off road van from
Glendambo -- Kingoonya -- Mt Ive -- Hiltaba -- Wirrulla.

OR
Mt Ive -- Minnipa -- Via Gawler Ranges
I have a dual wheel 21ft, towing with TD Toyota 79 series tray
I will be traveling end of August .
I will not do the track if it rains.
Have read road conditions on SA.GOV said it open at this time but does not say if I can tow a van.
Cheers Reggy2

You will be OK, just watch out for washouts and grader runoffs on the side of the track...... plenty of vehicle roll over happen on that track.

As for rain...... the track can get closed at a minutes notice, we got caught up there a few years ago at Mt Ive Station for 3 days.... ended up driving out on a closed road with permission from Pt Lincoln police (we know the Station owners).

5 other friends who we were due to meet there (they were coming from Tarcoola) got stuck and had to divert to Glendambo.

The sky went from a few clouds to torrential downpour within 3hrs.

We were parked about 100m from the homestead and we could not move our 4x4 closure for 2 days.

The station owner got caught in Kimba for the 3 days.

Apart from that we had a fantastic time.

Ok ,as long as you drive to the conditions.Often very corregated in areas ,just slow down & regulate tyre pressure. Be sure to stop over at Wirrulla.Nice meal at the pub & friendly locals.Visit the jetty!
