Question: East Pilbara Diversion

We are wanting to drive the Boreline Rd from 80 Mile Beach through Shay Gap to Marble Bar next week - can anyone give an update on permits required (fairly certain = nil?), road conditions etc.
Any info greatfully received....

No dramas with those roads and no permits required.
From 20km north of Shay Gap to within about 17km of Marble Bar, those roads are on Yarrie Station. They don't mind people who ''do the right thing'' camping along the way.
Shay Gap is a very pretty area and there is a camp spot on the NE side of the De Grey River crossing.

Many thanks for this info, Peter.
Is is best/wise to contact Yarrie Station for permission, and if so, do you happen to know their contact details - none listed even on the desert maps.

If you are staying near the public roads you will be fine, but if you wanted to explore a bit more you should contact them. Anne, Lang or Annabelle Coppin 08 9176 4954. They all typically work very long hours but there is usually someone at the homestead.
