Barrow Creek

Hi all

Travelling north and thinking we may stay at Barrow Creek. Anyone any idea what's there and what the facilities are like?

Thanks in advance

Just a highway stop with an iconic pub - don't recall anything else there. We did note that a fancy public toilet facility was built there some years back, but on our last trip it was closed (damaged, filthy, abandoned)...... I think I know why. The pub staff will lend you a key for their toilet if you 'need to go'. As I recall, that pub was the scene of Peter Falconio's last public appearance.

We travel many times on the Stuart Highway.

I would not stay at Barrow Creek unless I was comatose.

The old Telegraph station is worth a look.

Wycliffe Wells a bit up the road is a much better place to stay.

Enjoy you trip.

I would agree 100% it was a dump last time we called in about a year ago

We were looking to stop there a few years ago. The navigator took one look at the amenities and said "let's go." Unless it's vastly improved then stop on the side of the road somewhere. It' so good that not even badger has a report on it.

Thanks for all the replies. My navigator also vetoed stop and we went to Wycliffe Well. The aliens etc were good entertainment for kids.
