Hi All, Just a heads up for those that have bought a cheaper Chinese generator.Check with the supplier about spare parts. Mine has a cracked fuel primer bulb & another small breakage. Still under warranty. Supplier says to return it to Sydney for service. Not likely as it has to go from country Cent Q'ld. Freight likely to be more than it is worth. Have negioated where they supply parts & I fit them. Now the kicker. They have to order them from China. Lord knows when they will arrive.

The good news is that the local repair bloke had a couple of odd ones off a different motor that are doing the job.

I know I should have bought a Honda but this was quarter the price & double the Kva & has worked well running the electric chainsaw cutting firewood. Yes it does get cold here. Bill

You tried Ebay?

Seems you can get any little gadget known to man there.

Cheers.

G'day Bill
Back in 2007 I bought 2 cheap chinese gennies with the thought that if any parts needed replacing then I could rob them off the second one. Problem is NOTHING has gone wrong with it despite 100's of hrs use!
So I still have the second one sitting brand new in the box.

Not much help to your situation I am afraid but as you have found out the cheap gennies are considered disposable.

Cheers
Stu

I did the same purchased 2 generators 1 for use & 1 for parts as they were half the price of a honda for both of them. Havent needed any parts yet.

I brought my 3kva scorpion about four years ago and it is still going strong, I have done about three hundred hours with it so far, maybe I should try and get it serviced one day and see what happens then. and it is pure sine wave.
