Hi, I have a 1986 26ft jayco caravan, with full ensuite in the rear, brand new subourban gas/ elec hot water service, brand new dometic cassette toilet in ensuite, gas oven/ cooktop/ grill, new rims, tyres, bearings, coupling, elec brakes etc. The van overall is in good condition with no leaks. Has the green laminex benchtops with booth style dining and single bed opposite then double bed and ensuite at rear. Just wondering if anyone has an idea what it may be worth?? Van is registered and has gas/ 240 elec certificates. Doesnt have an air con but concidering fitting one to sell as it was built with steel reinforcing in roof with wiring ready to go from factory. Van wieghs 1850kg. Just wondering what you think it may be worth? There isnt many vans for sale with full ensuites this big for sale for comparisin.. cheers!

Basically what someone is prepared to pay for it. (No matter what price you put on it :-)

HI Jacent,

It is hard to put a price on something without seening it. But from what you have described it appears you have spent some money on it and I assume its in pretty good condition for its age.
Older vans in good condition are still bringing good money. I just recently sold my early 1990s tandem van with ensuite for $20,000 (had a/c). Yours is a little older without air con so you are probably looking somewhere around the $12000 to $16000 mark (is my estimate) depending on its condition and if registered with all the necessary gas/safety certificates etc.
(there is a 1986 vicount seabreeze ensuite van for sale for $19,000 on caravanandcampingsales site at a dealer). So for a private sale for a similar van you would come back from that a little.
It also depends on where you live and how easy it is for buyers to inspect. If in a major town or city its a lot easier to sell as the potential market is bigger. If you are remote its costly for buyers to travel and inspect etc.
As said above at the end of the day its worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Good luck in selling.
Cheers
